Use Wavefront from Claude with MCP

Plan content, write drafts and publish approved versions in Wavefront from a Claude chat or Claude Code.

MCP over OAuth

What it does

Add Wavefront to Claude, on the web, the desktop app or Claude Code, and ask for work in a chat: plan with the strategist, draft articles and posts, read search data, and publish versions a person already approved.

Claude registers itself and signs in with OAuth, so there is no key to paste. It works within your workspace role, and it can approve only if you checked Approve content when connecting it.

Before you start

  • Claude on the web or desktop, or Claude Code
  • A Wavefront account in a workspace with a plan or trial

How to connect Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Wavefront, enter https://wavefront.adwave.com/mcp and leave the OAuth client ID and secret empty.
  3. Choose Connect, sign in to Wavefront, leave read, write and stay connected checked, and choose Allow.
  4. In a chat, turn the connector on from the tools menu and ask Claude to list your Wavefront workspaces.
  5. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http wavefront https://wavefront.adwave.com/mcp, then /mcp to sign in.

What it covers

  • Talk to the strategist, edit and save plans, and draft calendar posts
  • Start articles, copy and images, answer their questions and request revisions
  • Read documents, versions, comments, the calendar, search performance and site metrics
  • Publish or schedule approved versions to destinations that allow agents

Good to know

  • It approves a version only for an owner or editor who checked Approve content, and never one with blockers.
  • Agents can't post to social networks, send newsletters or withdraw a publication.
  • On Team and Enterprise plans, an organization owner adds the connector first.
  • The connection lasts 30 days, then Claude asks you to authorize again.
